Are you recently engaged and planning your wedding? Are you looking for the perfect Tuscaloosa engagement locations? You came to the right place! Hi, I’m Abby! A Tuscaloosa native and wedding and portrait photographer of 7 years. Tuscaloosa has so many beautiful places to take pictures. I have narrowed down a few of my favorite spots along with a list of other places to consider shooting at. Here are eight Tuscaloosa engagement locations.
1. University of Alabama Campus
UA’s campus is so beautiful! The grass is always green and the lighting here is always gorgeous. There are so much pretty places that don’t even looks like you are on the University’s campus. This is definitely a favorite Tuscaloosa engagement location.
2. Lake Nicol
If you are a little more adventurous, Lake Nicol could be a fun spot for you! The water makes for a really pretty backdrop.
3. First Presbyterian Church – Downtown Tuscaloosa
Another pretty location with gorgeous lighting. Theres is a grass area in front of the church that makes for really pretty pictures and the steps of the church are also beautiful!
4. Downtown Tuscaloosa
I love this spot in front of one of my favorite downtown restaurants, Depalmas! The building has such great character. We could even hit a few other downtown streets while we’re down there.
5. Capitol Park
A Tuscaloosa staple! Even if you don’t love the stone look, Capitol Park provides a large open grassy area perfect for pictures. Plus – it has great light!!
6. The Battle Friedman House
This is a spot in downtown Tuscaloosa. The house provides a few different spots around it with grass, trees, sometimes flowers, and of course the house itself.
7. The Federal Building
This has become one of my favorite spots for engagement photos. I love the clean stone look, the green grass in front of the building, the steps and the columns. Oh, and the good light!! It’s truly a beautiful Tuscaloosa engagement location.
8. NorthRiver Yacht Club
A beautiful spot to end your session. The sunset here is just perfect!! You have the small green hills of the golf course and a clock tower for your backdrop. Here is a link to check out more from NorthRiver Yacht Club.
A few other spots not listed that I have shot at and love:
- Downtown Northport
- The UA Arboretum
- Sokol Park
- The Riverwalk
- Downtown Parking Deck
I also always encourage my couples to consider places that are special to you. If you guys have a favorite coffee shop you love – let’s go there! Anywhere that means something special to your relationship.
