“Do you remember the 21st night of September? Love was changing the minds of pretenders while chasing the clouds away” If you weren’t humming Earth, Wind and Fire’s September just then it’s okay because I only know the first line too!! But to answer their question, yes!! I do remember the 21st night of September and I guarantee you Shea and Collin will always remember it as the best day of their lives!! These two said I do and danced to the classic song on September 21st at the Elms of Coosada. This wedding in particular took me back to the day I got married. I also got married at a southern plantation home. The perfect backdrop to a classic southern wedding.
There were so many special moments from their wedding that I distinctly remember. I remember watching them unfold in front of my camera and thinking, “wow that’s a moment I hope they never forget and I am so happy they get to relive through their wedding photos.
Shea and her mom getting ready in the soft blue front bedroom. It was just me and them in there and it was so peaceful. My second shoot, Lizzy snapped a shot of Collin writing his letter to Shea just before seeing her for their first look. He also bought her the most beautiful vase and filled it with her favorite flowers! The moment that Shea’s dad saw her for the first time and the both cried tears of joy. One of my favorite memories was of Shea and Collin running to the dance floor to get the party started!! They came out to Earth Wind and Fire’s September. Shea and Collin had the time of their lives on stage at their reception!!
People always tell brides that the wedding day goes by so quickly. This is just as true for photographers!! I try to experience these sweet moments with my brides as I capture them. It’s these moments that bring you back to that day.
Shea and Collin, thank you guys from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to walk with you guys through this season and be there on the most perfect wedding day! I wish you guys the happiest of marriages!
