I photographed Laura and Thomas’ wedding day at a the beautiful First Baptist Church of Opelika and it was one of the most beautiful days I have ever gotten to photograph. Leading up to the big day Laura would shoot me ideas she had and even photos of which shoes she was going with. I loved this! I love getting to be apart of the big decisions and the small.
The day started at the Heritage House, a charming historic home nestled in the heart of downtown. Upstairs Laura and her girls whisked around getting hair and makeup done and putting on their gowns. After the final touches were done, we headed to the chapel!! Laura had some really special guests join her for a few photos. I love when brides get to have their fur babies be apart of their wedding day.
Laura and Thomas chose not to do a first look on their wedding day. I know this is a tough decision brides have to make and I try my best to help them through that process. Never ever does either decision take away from how special the day is. So Thomas didn’t lay eyes on his bride until that big moment. It was so sweet to witness.
Next up: party time! This reception space didn’t lack in details in anyway. The florals, the tables and chairs, the linens, the dishes, the bar, was all so perfect! I truly felt like a kid in a candy shop photographing all of the beautiful details. The night was truly perfect.
Laura and Thomas, it was such an honor and a privilege to document your beautiful wedding day. I’ll never forget it! I hope you love your photos and cherish them for lifetime. Big hugs to you both and your families.
